KARACHI: Saad Nasim captured six wickets to help Lahore Blues record a massive 142-run win against Bahawalpur on the fourth and last day of Inter-Region Cricket Tournament here at NBP Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a target of 333 runs, Bahawalpur were out for 191. They had begun the dy at 122-4.
With this, Lahore Region managed to get second place, only one point behind Sialkot with 18 points in Pool B. Both the teams won their two matches.
Bahawalpur are placed at No 3 along with Multan. Both the teams have lost their matches.
Meanwhile, the match between Karachi Region Blues and Abbottabad ended in a draw after Abbottabad scored 230 runs in their second innings.
Karachi required 243 runs to win with only 12 overs to be bowled. They scored 48-1.
After this draw, Karachi are sitting at second place behind FATA in Pool A with nine points with one win and a draw. FATA won both of their matches to grab 18 points.
Abbottabad are sitting at third place with a defeat and a draw, followed by Faisalabad, who are yet to record a triumph.
In Inter-Departmental Tournament, Sui Southern Gas Company defeated State Bank of Pakistan by four wickets at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
SSGC required 144 runs to win which they did at the cost of six wickets.
The match between Karachi Port Trust and Pakistan International Airlines ended in a draw at LCCA Ground, Lahore.
SSGC now lead the table after recording two wins in two matches. They are followed by Khan Research Laboratory who have recorded one victory and a draw. SBP are sitting at the third spot, having won one match and lost the other.
