BAHAWALPUR: Zafar Sharif of Business Group has been elected as president of the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) elections for the year 2015-16 unopposed.
Raja Shahzeb was elected as senior vice president and Chaudhry Munawar Hussain as vice president.
Former BCI president Chaudhry Masood Majeed administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers.
PML-N Senator Chaudhry Saud Majeed was the chief guest during the annual general meeting and election.
CHAMBER’S CONSTRUCTION ROW: TMA Bahawalpur City and Waste Management Company staffers led by AC City Rao Tasleem reached the site to demolish an under construction chamber of lawyers near the DCO House.
However, when the TMA and BWMC staffers started operation the affected lawyers called the DBA president and other office-bearers who held negotiation with the AC and SHO Cantt police.
Later, the AC and officials of other departments came back and lawyers resumed the construction.
