KOHAT: The security forces and police Wednesday arrested 35 suspected persons during a joint search operation in parts of the district, an official said. District Police Officer (DPO) Sohaib Ashraf told reporters that the security forces, police and personnel of the Quick Response Force, Bomb Disposal Unit, along with the female cops made the arrest during a door-to-door search in Kohat Cantonment and its surrounding localities. He said the law-enforcement agencies also recovered two Kalashnikovs, five rifles, six pistols and hundreds of cartridges during the operation. The official said the armoured vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns were also used in the operation. He said that the security of the sensitive installation had been beefed up and search operations were being conducted against anti-social elements in the district.
