903 leave for hometowns from Faisalabad quarantine centres
FAISALABAD: As many as 903 people went to their districts from the quarantine centres after consecutive negative reports of coronavirus tests here on Sunday.
According to the spokesperson for district administration, 296 pilgrims, 65 Tablighi Jamaat members and 542 passengers left the quarantine centres. He told that now 609 passengers along with flights staff from the United Arab Emirates, three pilgrims, four Tablighi Jamaat members and 12 flight staff members had been quarantined. The spokesman added that 518 residents of Faisalabad had been tested so far and out of which 383 had been tested negative, 73 tested positive and the results of 62 had not been received yet while 23 persons had been recovered and went to their homes.
The spokesperson said that 28 confirmed patients of coronavirus were currently under treatment at the Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad.
Applications invited for renewal of pesticide licences: Agriculture Pest Warning and Quality Control of Pesticide Department Sunday invited applications from pesticide dealers for renewal of their pesticide licences.
According to Assistant Director Pest Warning Chaudhry Asrar Arshad, the applications will be received up to May 9 while training of pesticide dealers will be held from May 11 to 13.
He said pesticide dealers should pay training fee of Rs 3,300 and submit their applications along with 3 passport side photographs, paid challan form, verified photocopies of Matric certificate, CNIC and domicile at the office of Assistant Director Pest Warning and Quality Control, Plant Pathological Research Institute (PPRI) of Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad by May 9. He said two training centres have been established in Faisalabad. Pesticide dealers belonging to Tehsil Faisalabad, Jaranwala and Chak Jhumra will get training at training centre of Ayub Agriculture while dealers belonging to Sammundri and Tandlianwala will get training at training centre Sammundri.
However, all participants are directed to attend training class after adopting all preventive measures against corona virus, he added.
Petrol station owner fined: Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sammundri Faisal Sultan imposed fine on a petrol station owner on charged of selling petrol at higher rates. According to spokesman of the local administration, the AC checked various petrol stations early in the morning and found a petrol station involved in overcharging and selling petrol on excessive rates. The AC imposed Rs 10,000 fine on the owner.
37 profiteers fined: Price Control Magistrates Sunday imposed fines on 37 profiteers in Faisalabad during the last 24 hours.
According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali, the Price Control Magistrates inspected 1,187 shops and stalls in various markets and bazaars across the district and found 37 shopkeepers involved in profiteering. Therefore, the price control magistrates imposed a total fine of Rs 39,000 on them.
Sugar seized: The local administration in a campaign against hoarding recovered huge quantity of daily use items on Sunday.
According to a spokesman of the administration, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Tandlianwala Usama Niazi recovered 2,000 kilogram sugar, 4,000 kilogram rice, 170 kilogram ghee and a large number of soap packets.
