KASUR: Five people were killed while four others suffered injuries in separate road accidents here on Tuesday.
In the first incident, a speeding van hit a donkey-cart and later traffic police officials who were checking documents of vehicles near Noorpur Canal on Depalpur Road. As a result, traffic police cop Muhammad Kashif and Liaqat Ali, a driver of a vehicle whose papers were checking by the cop, were killed on the spot while another police constable Masoom Ali and donkey-cart owner Muhammad Azam suffered injuries. The driver of the van managed to flee. In another incident, Muhammad Saleem of Sattoki village was crushed to death by a van on Kasur-Raiwind Road. In yet another incident, two motorcycles collided at Allahabad Bypass. As a result, Shahzad was killed on the spot while Allah Rakha suffered injuries. The wife of Muhammad Shafi was crossing a road when a speeding motorcycle hit her. As a result, she was killed on the spot.
