Two Covid-19 patients die in Khairpur
SUKKUR: Two victims of Covid-19 positive, who were kept in quarantine at isolation wards of Khairpur Medical College and GIMS, died on Sunday.
Reports said one of the deceased identified as Yaseen Malik, resident of Pano Aqil, was in the isolation ward of the GIMS in Khairpur, and another victim, resident of Hussaini Road, Sukkur, identified as of Abdul Sattar, s/o Illahi Bakhsh Mughal, was in the isolation ward of Khairpur Medical College, Khairpur, who died on Sunday. The Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Rana Adeel confirmed the deaths and said that according to the SOPs, the bodies were buried in their native graveyards. Meanwhile, a man died in Karachi and the body was shifted to Bhiria City of Naushahro Feroze and according to the SOPs, the district administration buried the body at a local graveyard in Memon Muhalla. The parents insisted to allow them holding funeral prayers, claiming the deceased was not a victim of coronavirus. The DC Naushahro Feroze was also not sure but he told the deceased parents that he was suspected to be victim of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the samples of doctors were taken at civil hospital Jacobabad and among them a lady doctor diagnosed COVID-19 positive and she took herself into isolation at her home. Reports said the local transmission of COVID-19 was rapidly growing in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana and other cities, posing a serious threat to the local populations. It said 11 more cases of local transmission of COVID-19 reported in Shikarpur, and among the victims, Chairman Municipal Committee Shikarpur Aqeel Abbas Soomro, four doctors identified as of Dr Sandeep Representative of World Health Organisation, Dr Tahir Fareed, Dr Perveez, Abdul Rasheed, were included.
