Self-made wine claims lives of six friends in Sargodha
SARGODHA: Six friends died after consuming self-made toxic wine in City police limits on Thursday.
According to a police spokesman, six friends - Khalid, Kashif, Eman, Nasir, Manzoor and Noona - prepared wine at Khalid’s house. Later, they consumed it and died there after vomiting. The police said that the wine was toxic due to which all the six persons died after its consumption.
The police have shifted the bodies to the District Headquarter Teaching Hospital Sargodha for autopsy. The doctors at the hospital also confirmed that the deaths occurred due to consumption of the toxic wine. DPO Faisal Gulzar had taken the notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry.
Ulema urged to ensure implementation on 20-point agenda: Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh has urged the religious scholars and Ulema of all sects to ensure full implementation of the government’s 20-point agenda so that Taraweeh prayers can continue during Ramazan.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of the District Peace Committee here. Elderly people, children and people with weak immune system should worship at homes instead of mosques and take advantage of the blessings of Ramazan, the DC added. The deputy commissioner made it clear that Sehri and Iftari would not be allowed in the mosques. The administration would ensure the Ehtaram-e-Ramazan Ordinance and strict action would be taken against the violators, he added.
Boy killed: An 18-year-old boy was killed in a road accident in Sillanwali police limits on Thursday. Asad Jutt of Chak 120/SB was going to home when a recklessly driven truck hit his bike near Nishtarabad Phattak.
As result, he sustained serious injuries. Rescue 1122 shifted him to the DHQ Teaching Hospital where he died. The police have registered a case against the truck driver.
