Soldier martyred, facilitator of terrorists killed in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: A soldier was martyred and an alleged facilitator of terrorists was killed while four personnel of Pakistan Army and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) sustained injuries during a fierce clash in Sarki area in the limits of Khanmahi Police Station here on Thursday.
Official sources said that taking action on a tip-off about the presence of alleged terrorists belonging to Swat at the residence of Gul Raziq alias Gul Nazak, the security forces and CTD personnel cordoned the entire area and started moving towards the holed up terrorists.
Upon seeing the soldiers, the sources said, the terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons opened indiscriminate fire on the security forces. A soldier identified as Wajid Ali was martyred and four security personnel including Tayyab Khan, Nisar Ali, Kabir and Raees of the Pakistan Army and CTD sustained serious injuries in the clash.
One of the alleged facilitator of terrorists, Yasir, was killed. Another facilitator Gul Raziq aka Gul Nazak was wounded in the retaliatory action by the security forces and CTD, the sources added. However, the latter managed to escape.
Soon after the incident, the body of martyred soldier and injured personnel were taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar.
