BAHAWALPUR: Three proclaimed offenders were killed in an encounter with Bahawalnagar Sadr police on Arifwala Bypass on Eid night. Some policemen were on duty at a picket when they signalled three suspects but they allegedly opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, they were killed on the spot. They were later identified as proclaimed offenders Mazhar alias Mazhari, his brother Fazal alias Fazali, residents of Chishtian, and their accomplice Sarwar Rajput, a resident of Phoolnagar. They were wanted by police in dozens of murder, attempt to murder and robbery cases.
