Sindh tennis officials hope October events won’t be affected by virus
KARACHI: Tennis officials of the province are hopeful that the coronavirus pandemic will not affect two under-14 Asian events in Karachi.
Karachi has been hosting two Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) ranking 14 & under events for the past few years in the second half of the calendar year. But the coronavirus pandemic this year and the traveling issue because of it might affect these two events.
“I am hoping that the situation will be a lot better by October and we will be able to host these events,” said Khalid Rehmani while talking to ‘The News’. The organiser of the events added that he was aware of the possible impact of this current situation as two similar under-14 events got cancelled in April.
It is to be noted that two Asian level under-14 tennis events were scheduled in Islamabad from April 4-19 but they were cancelled. “We will monitor the situation before applying for the hosting rights of the said events. We will not lose hope,” said Khalid.
