FAISALABAD: Police arrested two proclaimed offenders, five target offenders and two court absconders during a search operation carried out in Madina Town, Lyallpur Town and Jaranwala Town under the National Action Plan.
A City police spokesman said that police also arrested 150 suspects, besides recovering a Kalashnikov during the search operation. The identification of suspects was verified through biometric system and upon the clearance that they were not involved in any criminal activity, they were released.
The spokesmen said that around 250 lessees were also checked. Meanwhile, City Police Officer Afzal Ahmad Kausar paid surprise visits to different pickets established ahead of Eid in different parts of the city. The CPO visited Clock Tower Chowk, Hilal Ahmar Chowk, Iqbal Stadium, Millat Chowk , Deputywala and Kamalpur interchanges to check police security. He appreciated the performance of staff deputed at Deputywala interchange and announced to give them special certificates along with cash prize.
