MINGORA: A man infected by the fast spreading coronavirus a few days ago reported negative for the test on Wednesday, sending a wave of happiness among his relatives and the nearby dwellers.
The infected man, Junaid Khan, was discharged from the isolation ward of Saidu Sharif Hospital after his complete recovery. Also, five persons reported positive for the coronavirus test out of 54 samples while the results of 49 individuals were declared negative for the viral infection, raising the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases to 43 in the district.
The two infected persons are belonging to Gunbad Maira and one each to Bairai and Shalpan in Khwazakhel. The fifth one is from Kogan in Buner district, who had visited the ward for coronavirus patients in the Saidu Sharif Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Swat police and members of the civil society presented guard of honour to the doctors, paramedics and other health staff for their services being extended during prevailing coronavirus pandemic.
Besides others, Additional Superintendent of Police, Lower Swat, Shah Hussain, DSP Saidu Sharif Muhammad Ishaq were present on the occasion.
The doctors, nurses and other health staff members were praised for playing a frontline role in the fight against the Covid-19 infection in the district. They were also given flower bouquets on the occasion.
