Constable killed in Sukkur encounter
Three bandits also killed

SUKKUR: A constable of Shikarpur police embraced martyrdom during an encounter with a gang of bandits.
The constable was identified as Shamsuddin whose colleague, Waseem Mirani, sustained bullet injuries during the encounter in which the bandits used sophisticated weapons.
Three bandits carrying a head money of Rs20 million were also killed in the encounter.
SSP of Shikarpur police, Nasir Aftab, said that a police team had gone to Village Rehmatullah Dahani in Madaaji to arrest the gang of the bandits who opened fire on the police team, killing the constable and injuring his colleague.
The bandits escaped under the cover of fire, but the police party bravely chased them and killed Rasheed Rind, Amano Tunio and Javeed Rind. The bandits had been declared proclaimed offenders and carried Rs10 million head money.
The SSP said that the bandits had been wanted to the police in the killing of the DSR of Rangers, Abdul Jabbar Abbasi. Besides, they had been also wanted to the police in more than 50 cases of kidnappings for ransom, murders and highway robberies. SSP Nasir Aftab said that the operation against the criminals would continue.
