Another coronavirus patient reported in Swabi
SWABI: The number of coronavirus patients in the district reached five as another person has tested positive for the disease, officials said on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood told media that the test of Khursheed Khan, 50, from National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad, turned out to be positive. The latest victim has been referred to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. The other four patients have been under treatment in Civil Hospital, Tehsil Chota Lahore and Category- C hospital in Topi tehsil. Health officials said that Khursheed belongs to Jagnat village and had returned from Karachi a few days back and soon after that his blood test was sent to NIH. District Police Officer Imran Shahid said that soon after the confirmation of the case, the entire family of Khursheed has been confined to their home and their blood samples taken and sent to NIH for testing. The neighbours have also been told to remain in their homes and the mosque of the area has been washed by TMA staff, with an aim to contain coronavirus. Meanwhile, the lockdown of the district continues and no-one is allowed to roam in markets.
