Gangster killed by Customs ASO team From Our Correspondent BAHAWALPUR: A gangster was allegedly killed by the Pakistan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) team led by Inspector Haq Nawaz at Allahabad Colony in Sadr police limits on Friday night. According to an FIR, the driver of a luxury vehicle (BF-7078) drove away when the ASO team asked him to show its documents during a search operation against non-custom paid vehicles near a petrol pump on Multan Road. The team started chasing the vehicle and succeeded to intercept it. Instead of producing the vehicle documents, the driver opened fire on the ASO team. They also retaliated. As a result, the driver was killed on the spot. He was later identified as gangster Amanat alias Fauji of Chak 93/DNB, Yazman tehsil. He was wanted in a number of murder, attempt to murder and robbery cases. The body was handed over to the heirs after autopsy conducted at the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
