DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Nine persons of an Afghan family, including three women and six children among them, were killed and a woman sustained injuries when a tractor-trolley overturned in Paharpur tehsil on Saturday, police sources said.
They said that an Afghan family was travelling from Kachi Malikhel to Saidu Wali area in a tractor-trolley when the vehicle overturned. They said that nine persons, including three women, four minor girls and two boys, were killed in the mishap.
They said that a woman, Kari Bibi, sustained serious injuries and was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. They said that the bodies were handed over to the relatives for burial.
Meanwhile, two persons were killed in a separate road mishap as a speedy truck overturned near Chashma Barrage in the limits of Khaisur Police Station, police sources said.
They said that a truck (JY-9629) was carrying sacrificial animals from Punjab to Tank district. They said that the driver lost control over the vehicle due to over speeding and the truck overturned. As a result, Aqil Shah and Abdur Rehman were killed on the spot in the incident.
They said that four camels were also killed in the incident.
