Corona suspect admitted to Multan hospital
MULTAN: A coronavirus suspected patient was admitted to the Nishtar Hospital isolation ward No-27 on Friday, said a senior doctor.
He said that 30-year-old suspected patient Muhammad Nasir belonged to Multan and he was the first suspected patient reported from the district since the corona outbreak. He said that the tests of the patient would be conducted.
Meanwhile, one more corona suspect was discharged from isolation ward after he was tested negative. He was identified as Muhammad Sajid. Currently, only one suspect was in an isolation ward and he was waiting for his report. Earlier, six corona suspects were discharged from the isolation ward after their reports came negative on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the administration of Multan quarantine centre shifted 19 corona suspect pilgrims to Muzaffargarh Tayyip Erdogan Hospital for further treatment after they were tested positive. The suspects belonged to 11 Punjab districts, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Jhang, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Gujrat, Jehlum and Rahimyar Khan and Karachi. Meanwhile, the Dera Ghazi Khan quarantine centre discharged 37 pilgrims after they completed their 14-day period at the centre. All the discharged pilgrims belonged to Multan and they were kept at the Dera Ghazi Khan quarantine centre after their return from Iran via Taftan Border. Assistant Commissioners Abida Farid, Shahzad Mehboob and Mubin Ehsan warmly received all the pilgrims at Sher Shah toll plaza. Twenty-five pilgrims belong to Multan, 10 to Shujabad and two to Jalalpur Pirwala. All the pilgrims were allowed to go to their homes. Meanwhile, talking to journalists, Deputy Commissioner Amir Khattak said that the city district government Rapid Response Unit had rescued 21 corona suspects in the last two days. Deputy Commissioner Aamer Khattak said that the corona suspected patients tests were conducted from the Nishtar Hospital in which 20 patients’ results came negative while one was positive. The corona patient was shifted to the Muzaffargarh Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital. He said that the rapid response team received 21 calls during two days, March 24 and 25. Khattak said that the citizens could inform about the corona suspected patients and the people, who came from abroad and did not complete quarantine period, at Rescue 1122 number.
