Mardan police set up control room amid coronavirus pandemic
MARDAN: Police have set up a control room at the DPO offices for coordination of actions amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as the district houses Manga area that reported the first death of COVID-19.
Speaking to a press conference, DPO Sajjad Khan said that citizens can approach the control room to register complaints on violation of government advisories on coronavirus prevention.
“Manga has been completely locked down and 18 nakabandis have been established there, with deployment of more than 200 policemen, also being supported by the army soldiers,” the DPO said.
He also said that special suits have been provided to the policemen guarding in Manga area while there were around 100 personnel deputed at three quarantine centres in Mardan.
“Food is being provided to people in Manga through a committee set up by the civil administration,” he said.
He also said that 364 people have been arrested in Mardan for violation of section-144 during the last two days while cases have been registered against traders and motorists too.
