Governor Imran Ismail receives shipment of medical aid from China

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Friday received at the Karachi Airport a consignment of medical aid from China for fighting the coronavirus epidemic in the country.

The governor received the aid consignment on behalf of the federal government. The consignment comprises 56,000 testing kits to detect the coronavirus cases, N95 surgical masks, and other medical emergency equipment.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said China had always supported Pakistan in all the testing times, the they it was helping the Pakistan government to overcome this challenge.

The governor said the medical aid from China was a reflection of the ever-lasting friendship between China and Pakistan. He said the Pakistani nation was thankful to the Chinese people for this support.

The governor said more consignments of medical aid would soon arrive from China as the availability of the kits would expand the testing facilities to timely detect the coronavrius cases in the country. He said the situation of the viral epidemic in the country would drastically improve with the Chinese assistance.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had been personally monitoring the countrywide situation of the current health emergency. He said the relevant state and government officials had been giving real-time briefing to the PM on the evolving situation of the infectious disease in the country.

He appealed to the people to stay at home and support the government’s efforts to curb the spread of the viral disease in the country. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah two days back had received a similar consignment of the medical aid from China, including five million masks. The shipment also contained N95 masks for the medical practitioners.
