JI observes ‘Shab-e-Astaghfar’, ‘Yaum-e-Dua’

Peshawar

March 27, 2020

PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami observed Thursday night as ‘Shab-e-Astaghfar’ and Friday is being observed as ‘Yaum-e-Dua’ (prayer offering day) to seek Allah’s help to rid the world of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.

Call for the prayer was given by the head of the party Senator Sirajul Haq. Provincial president of the Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan in a statement issued on Thursday said that the viral disease was a test from Allah.

“It shows that man is helpless and weak.”

This worldly development is nothing before the power of Allah the Almighty and only Allah could forgive the sins of His creatures and rid them of the plague, which has crippled humanity and even the superpowers are helpless before it.

Mushtaq Ahmad Khan criticized the policies of the government for combating the Corona pandemic.

He said that it seemed that there was no government at all in the country. The rulers were unable to take timely decisions, he said.

He also expressed concern over the quarantine center established in the province for the people declared positive with coronavirus. No proper protocols are adopted at the centers, which are given adverse results instead of improving the situation.

The matter should be properly talked and proper standard operation procedures (SOPs) should be adopted at the quarantine centers as well as at the isolation wards for corona patients in hospitals.

The doctors and other medical staff performing duties by putting their lives at risk should also be provided with proper safety kits, he stressed.
