Three arrested for rickshaw, motorcycle thefts

Karachi

March 27, 2020

The Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three men in two raids for being allegedly involved in stealing rickshaws and motorcycle.

The arrests were made by the AVLC Bin Qasim. The suspects included Naeem, son of Ehsan, and Faraz Ali, son of Abdul Rasheed. The police also claimed to have recovered one stolen rickshaw from their possession.

An AVLC spokesperson said that the rickshaw had been stolen on March 20 and a case had been registered at the Sukhan police station. He added that the suspects are habitual rickshaw thieves and sold the three-wheelers in Nawabshah. They had been absconders in Nawabshah. In another raid, AVLC cops arrested a suspected motorcycle lifter wanted in an FIR lodged at the Sukkan police station.

The man was identified as Umar Daraz, son of Afzal, and recovered one stolen motorcycle from his possession, which he had stolen on February 27 from the Sukhan police station remits. The spokesperson said the suspect was a habitual motorcycle lifter, but had been arrested for the first time. Legal proceedings and efforts for further arrests are underway.
