Severe hailstorm, rain hit Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: A severe hailstorm and torrential rain hit different areas of Bahawalpur district on Wednesday. The rain damaged thousands of acres of wheat crop and large-sized hailstones injured scores of cattle. Reportedly, roofs of several houses, including Channi Goth Rural Health Centre, caved in due to rain. The fast windstorm uprooted electricity poles in different areas, causing power disruption in several localities. The hailstorm also harmed crops in Tehsil Yazman’s areas Tailwala, Kudwala, Head Rajkan and adjoining areas.

COUPLE FOUND DEAD UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: A newly married couple was found dead in their room on Wednesday under mysterious circumstances in Basti Khurrampur, tehsil Khairpur Tamiwali on Wednesday.According to the father of deceased Rab Nawaz, 25, his son tied the knot with Shaheena Bibi six months ago and they were living separately from other family members.He said on Tuesday night they slept and on Wednesday they did not wake up as their room’s door was locked from inside.The police shifted the bodies to THQ hospital Khairpur Tamiwali.There are rumours that one of the couple might have shot dead the other and then that person committed suicide as a pistol was found near them and the door was also locked from inside.
