Two killed over property dispute in Haripur
HARIPUR: Two persons were shot dead while another one was critically injured when rival groups allegedly opened fire over a property dispute in Gulu Bandi village in the limits of Hattar Industrial Estate Police Station here on Sunday.
According to Hattar Industrial Estate Police, there was a dispute between Haq Nawaz and Zahid over the possession of a piece pf land and the latter allegedly forcibly took possession of the land a couple of days ago. On Sunday afternoon, when Haq Nawaz group came across Abid Sultan and his brother Mahmood Sultan, whom they considered accomplices of Zahid group, both groups exchanged harsh words and Haq Nawaz group allegedly opened fire on Abid Sultan and Mahmood Sultan while one Ehsan Elahi, a bystander, was also there.
The injured were shifted to Rural Health Centre Kotnajibullah where Abid Sultan and Ehsan Elahi succumbed to bullet injuries while Mahmood Sultan was referred to Haripur Trauma Centre for tertiary care. On the complaint of Mahmood Sultan, the police registered murder a case against Haq Nawaz, his sons Akash and Waqas and nephew Ahsan under section 302, 324/34 of the PPC. The police said the accused were at large till the filing of this report.
