Siraj opens 160-bed isolation ward in Mansoora Hospital
LAHORE:Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has warned the ruling and opposition parties that they had no chance of mistake left in the war against coronavirus.
“All have to wage a collective fight against the virus and take every step to prevent the lives of entire nation from the deadly disease,” he said Sunday while addressing media persons after inaugurating a 160-bed isolation ward in Mansoora Hospital, run by JI affiliated social welfare organisation Al-Khidmat Foundation. Siraj-ul-Haq said the JI and Al-Khidmat had already given at the government’s disposal all of its hospitals and dispensaries, over 300 ambulances and staff, in the nation’s fight against coronavirus, since they believed that the government alone could not counter the deadly catastrophe of such a huge magnitude.
He said it was imperative on every citizen, political and religious parties, social groups to employ all of their capacities and energies in this national duty. He demanded them send essential ration supplies for at least 15 days in the homes of the daily wagers and poor households as part of their fight against the coronavirus. He demanded the government waive off the utility bills for those earning Rs25,000 or less. He appealed to the house owners to waive off the house rents of March and April 2020 to their tenants.
He asked the government to devise a comprehensive policy at federal level to counter coronavirus threat and then all provinces should carry on the policy. He warned against the differences among the federation and provinces regarding the coronavirus counter measures that was not only a serious threat to the efforts against the virus but also a threat to national solidarity.
He praised the spirit and sense of service of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, and demanded the government provide them safety kits. He appealed to the nation to offer special prayers and offer collective repentance against their sins before The Almighty Allah.
He also appealed to help out the Pakistanis stranded at the Doha airport, asking government to instruct the embassy to provide them food and shelter. He also appealed to the Qatar government to assist them reach safely to their homes.
