Sialkot-Lahore Motorway formally opens

SIALKOT: The newly-constructed Sialkot-Lahore Motorway was opened for the general public, here on Wednesday.

No formal ceremony was held keeping in view coronavirus situation in the country. Assistant Commissioner Sambrial Muhammad Izhar-ul-Haq Bajwa, senior officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) visited the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway near Daska. People have welcomed the opening of the Motorway.

Man found murdered: A man was found murdered on the bank of a local canal near Veeram-Uggoki village here on Wednesday.

According to the police, the people of the area spotted the body of a man and informed the police. The police reached the spot and took the bullet-riddled body into custody. The identification of victim has yet to be established. Police have shifted the body to Sambrial Civil Hospital for autopsy.

Masks recovered: Assistant Commissioner Javeria Maqbool along with a police team raided a godown in Naikapura here on Wednesday and recovered 170,000 surgical face masks illegally stored there.Police arrested three owners of the godown,

Hassan Raza, Umer Karim and Hamza Ali, and sent them to lock up after registering a case against them.
