Qureshi goes into self-isolation
MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has decided to go into self-isolation and will conduct his coronavirus tests in the next couple of days.
His medical consultants have advised him to conduct his coronavirus tests after five days. However, he has opted to stay away from gatherings, a statement said on Wednesday. The family members are being kept away from him and he is unable to see his children. He said only safety measures can save people from coronavirus.
Referring to his talks with China, he said the Chinese leadership is keen on current coronavirus spread while the world is wrongly holding it responsible for the coronavirus spread. Pakistan did not bring students back from China because of its faith in China, he said, adding that Pakistani students did not face any mishap in China. He said he visited China to demonstrate solidarity with China. He said Pakistani pilgrims are scheduled to return home from Iran, but coronavirus preventive measures at the Pak-Iran border are inadequate. It is very difficult to allow the pilgrims to return to Pakistan.
He said people should cooperate and demonstrate unity in adopting coronavirus protective measures. Nobody can fight against coronavirus in lone capacity. The economy of the country is badly affected by corona crisis and the government is analyzing the economy facing crisis due to a lockdown. He said Pakistan needs to create a balanced environment and efforts should be made to take people into confidence. Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted the National Coordination Committee on Coronavirus. The country would have to face the corona threat for a short period. He appreciated the role of the media against Indian aggression.
