OKARA: Some 15 aspiring candidates, including a woman, Tuesday submitted their nomination papers to the Returning Officer for by -election of NA-144, Okara 2.
Ali Arif Chaudhry, Rana Ikram Rabbani, Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, Chaudhry Sajjad-ul-Hassan, Chaudhry Riaz-ul-Haq Juj, Fayyaz Ahmad Khan Ghouri, Chaudhry Khalil-ur-Rehman, Mehr Abdulsattar, Rao Khalid Khan, Rao Hasan Sikandar, Muhammad Tariq Chaudhry, Ali Raza, Mehr Shahdat Ali Sipra, M Aslam Mughal and Shazia Ahmad submitted the papers.
The scrutiny of the papers would be held on September 16 and17 by RO Javed Iqbal, the Regional Election Commissioner Quetta.
The NA 144 seat was vacated when the election tribunal Multan de-seated MNA Muhammad Arif Chaudhry three weeks back. The Election Commission of Pakistan has scheduled the by-election on October 11, 2015.
