OKARA: City A-Division police killed a proclaimed offender, who was wanted by Kasur, Sahiwal, Nankana Sahib and Okara districts police in 46 cases, in an encounter here on Saturday night. Police were on duty at a picket at Lower Bari Doab Canal 4-L distributory near the shrine of Qurban Shah when it signalled some suspects on motorcycles. Instead of stopping, the suspects opened fire on police, which was retaliated. As a result, the suspect was killed on the spot. He was later identified as PO Hassan alias Kali of Chak 39/3R. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana, claimed that the PO was killed by the firing of his accomplices. On Sunday, police handed over the body of Hassan to his relatives after autopsy.
