SWABI: A minor girl was killed and five other persons, including a village councillor, sustained injuries in a firing incident in the limits of the Chota Lahor Police Station on Saturday, sources said.
The sources said that the house of a councillor, Naveed Akbar Haqqani, was broken into last week. He arranged a sniffer dog to trace the thief. The dog, the sources said, entered into the house of one Shahid.
The councillor kept embarrassing the accused, the sources said. The enraged Shahid, the sources said, resorted to open indiscriminate fire near the house of the councillor.
Resultantly, three-year-old Habiba, playing in the street, was killed on the spot while the councillor Naveed Akbar Haqqani, cop Anwar Ali, five-year-old Usra, Osama and Ishtiaq were wounded. The dead and injured were shifted to the Bacha Khan Medical Complex in Swabi.
