Traders observe partial strike against WHT in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: The business community observed a partial strike against the withholding tax here on Wednesday.
The business community remained divided on the strike issue and nearly 60 per cent business centres and markets remained open. Cloth Market, Steel Market, Gondlanwala Road, Rail Bazaar, Auto Market, Noorbawa Iron Market and some other markets observed complete shutter down while Mobile Phone Market, GT Road, Clock Tower Market, Hafizabad Road and many other markets of the city remained open. Traders also took out a rally against this tax and chanted slogans against the WHT. They demanded the government withdraw from the decision.
MPA MURDER CASE HEARING ADJOURNED: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of MPA Rana Shamshad murder case till Sep 10.
Rana Akhtar, the brother of the MPA, appeared before the court and recorded his statement. Three accused, Shahbaz, Sabir and Owais, requested the court to abolish the terrorism section from the case.
