KP Digital Transformation Logo launched: CM Mahmood Khan for digitalising service delivery

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has formally launched the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Digital Transformation Logo for the Year 2020 promising revolutionary measures this year for digitalisation to ensure efficient services delivery and transparency.

He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony which was attended by Advisor to Chief Minister on Science and Information Technology Ziaullah Bangash, Special Assistant on Local Government Kamran Bangash, Managing Director for IT Board Dr Shahbaz Khan and other officials, said an official handout. The chief minister directed all government departments to come up with concrete planning for digitalization in service delivery and routine government business.

Mahmood Khan stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province which has formulated own digital policy for the purpose and every step is being taken for the materialisation of the related goals. He stated that development cannot be achieved without the use of information technology in the contemporary world. The chief minister announced the celebration of the year 2020 as the year of digital transformation in the province.

He hoped the launch of Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Logo will attract investors, IT sector experts and industrialists while at the same time the initiative will promote KP as a brand in the IT sector.

The chief minister believed the year 2020 will bring greater transparency, ease in the provision of services to citizens and innovations to speed up routine government business. He promised the reforms will help create livelihood opportunities for the youth in the IT sector.

He said the first Business Process Outsourcing Ready Facility has been established in the province which is first of its kind in the country and will help in providing entrepreneurship opportunities to over 700 youth.

At a separate event, the chief minister administered the oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of the Kohat Press Club and greeted them on assuming new responsibilities.
