Siraj slams PTI for enslaving country to IMF
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has highlighted the need for turning the country into Islamic welfare state, asking the people to vote for the JI if they wanted a real change in the country.
Terming the government’s economic policies anti-people, the JI leader said that the rulers on the direction of IMF were throwing millions more below poverty line.
Addressing a training workshop for JI workers at Mansoora Thursday, he alleged that the government was bent upon enslaving the nation to international lending agency, depriving the masses of their jobs and all other means of earning.
Thousands lost their jobs in past few months while educated youths became desperate finding no future opportunities, he said, adding that inflation was at peak and unemployment rate went record high in just 18 months, adding the youth was the prime target of the economic policies.
He questioned the government ability to run the state affairs, saying the rulers’ failure was obvious as they could not introduce reforms in even a single sector.
He warned the government against privatisation of state entities, saying the move would be resisted at every forum.
He regretted that the PTI government also proved itself the agent of the status quo. He advised the prime minister to put house in order instead of spending all time on foreign tours.
He said the government not only failed to fix the economy, end domestic political crisis but also could not devise a strong foreign policy and fight the Kashmir case.
Siraj highlighted the need for turning the country into Islamic welfare state, asking people to vote for the JI if they wanted a real change in the country.
He said feudal lords, industrialists and a few elite families had been ruling the country for seven decades.
He said the country could not be put on the path of development without getting rid of this mafia. JI naib ameer Liaqat Baloch said the government badly failed to deliver.
