HAFIZABAD: City police Sunday arrested a man, whose bear performed during the PTI public meeting on Saturday. The bear was also taken in custody by the Wildlife Department.
According to details, Shaukat Ali brought his bear, who danced during the meeting addressed by PTI chief Imran Khan. On Sunday, the police along with the Wildlife Department team raided the house of Shaukat Ali Qalandar at Thattha Khokhran and arrested him along with the bear.
The Wildlife Department in-charge said that no person could keep bear in his house as it was violation of the government’s rules. He said that the bear would be sent to the Lahore Zoo. He said that owner Shaukat Ali would be presented in the Gujranwala Wildlife court.
On the other hand, Shaukat Ali said that he was a poor man and his bear’s price was about Rs 500,000. He said that he earned his livelihood from the bear. Now, he would become jobless.
