SUKKUR: Sukkur and Shikarpur police shot dead seven criminals, including two dacoits, who carried Rs0.8 million head money, in a police encounter in Shikarpur on Saturday.
SSP Shikarpur Nasir Aftab Pathan said that Khanpur police of Shikarpur were patrolling when an encounter with criminals who attempted to loot passengers at Rahimabad Link Road occurred. One criminal Ghaus Bakhsh Dahani, carrying Rs0.3 million head money, was killed while Sain Dad was injured and arrested. A TT pistol, a shotgun and bullets were recovered. Their other associates escaped but would be arrested soon, he said.
The SSP said the CIA police shot dead in the limits of Garhi Taigo in Shikarpur a criminal Bilal Taighani wanted in
more than 20 cases. A Kalashnikov was found with the killed dacoit.
Meanwhile, the Sukkur police shot dead dacoit Qurban Khoso, who carried Rs0.8 million head money and another dacoit Mirani. A Kalashnikov and bullets were found to be in their possession. The Sindh government had notified Rs0.5 million head money on the dacoit, who was wanted to the Naushehro Feroze and Sukkur police in 26 cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom and other cases. A snatched tractor was recovered from the gang of dacoits. Three criminals were also killed in an encounter and the police recovered two Kalashnikovs, one TT pistol from them. The dacoits could not be identified.
