Bodies formed to monitor NGOs in Punjab

FAISALABAD: On the orders of the Punjab home secretary, the divisional level committees have been constituted across the province to supervise and monitor the NGOs.
A committee comprising 18 members has been constituted for Faisalabad division and Commissioner Nasim Nawaz is its convener. The committee members are DCOs of Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot, CPO of Faisalabad, DPOs of Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot, Social Welfare district officers of Faisalabad, Jhang, TT Singh and Chiniot, MPA Muhammad Ayub Khan Gadhi, MPA Madeeha Rana and Faisalabad Development Trust Syed Omer Nazar Shah.
The first meeting of the committee will be held shortly to consider the steps to be taken for effectively regulating the NGOs’ functioning in the division.
Seven dengue cases reported in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Seven dengue fever cases were reported at the Allied Hospital here.
According to a report, Muhammad Naeem, his wife Tabasum Naeem and daughter Isma Naeem had been suffering from fever. They were shifted to the hospital where the doctors detected dengue virus in their bodies.
Another four patients - Sharifan Bibi of Gatwala, Alisha of Samundri, 15-year-old Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Saleem of Chak 5/RB – were also admitted to the hospital with dengue fever.
