Badminton: Women’s doubles title for Mahoor, Palwasha
LAHORE: Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda) and Palwasha Bashir (NBP) clinched the women doubles title of the National Badminton Championship here on Thursday.Mixed doubles title was won by Zunain Javed and Farzana Ali of Wapda.
In the women singles top seeded Mahoor Shahzad and Ghazala Siddique of Wapda qualified for final.In the men’s doubles Rizwan Azam (NBP) & Noman Sabir (SNGPL) and Awais Zahid & M Ali Larosh (Wapda) reached the finals.
Finals of the main events will be played on Friday. Muhammad Khalid Mehmood, Secretary General Pakistan Olympic Association, will be the chief guest at the finals.

Women singles semifinals: Ghazala Siddique (Wapda) beat Bushra Qayyum (Wapda) by 23-21, 21-6; Mahoor Shahzad (Wapad) beat Sehra Akram (Wapda) by 21-5, 21-10
Men singles semifinals: Murad Ali (NBP) beat M Ali Larosh (Wapda) by 17-21, 24-22, 21-11Hafiz Irfan Saeed (Wapda) beat Azeem Sarwar (Wapda) by 21-17, 21-11.
