Azlan Hockey to open with Pak, Malaysia clash

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan are to play Malaysia on the opening day of the 29th Azlan Shah Hockey getting under way in Ipoh (Malaysia) from April 11-18. Besides Pakistan and hosts Malaysia, Canada, Japan, Korea and Australia are to figure in the yearly event.
Pakistan will play its second match against Canada on April 12, followed by match against Korea on April 14.
On April 15, Pakistan will be seen locking horns against Japan. Australia will be Pakistan’s next opponents on April 17 followed by play off matches and final to be played on Saturday April 18.Though Pakistan have not qualified for the Olympics, the event will provide good opportunity for Pakistan team to regroup and establish a competitive outfit for future international events.
