The Islamabad Police have registered an FIR against officials of the Rawalpindi Police on the complaint of a woman regarding kidnapping of her husband and young son for ransom and looting her house, police sources said.
The FIR (No. 264) has been registered with the Lohi Bheer Police Station on court orders under Sections 365, 452 and 380/34 of the PPC after a lapse of over eight months indicated in the FIR.
Ms. Naureen, wife of Javaid Tanoli, resident of a housing scheme in Islamabad, filed a complaint in the court of law under Section 22-A after lodging repeated applications against the Rawalpindi Police officials. The court ordered lodging of the FIR.
The complainant said, in her application, that on January 27 this year at about 10:30 p.m., some people, including uniformed police officials of the Rawalpindi Police, including ASI Rashid Shah, Tahir Rehan, Chaudhry Jamil, Kamran Satti, Naseer Satti, Shahzad and others, stormed into her house and held family members at gunpoint. The plain-clothed gunmen dragged her husband Javaid Tanoli and son Umar Farooq and pushed them in a private car while ASI Tahir Rehan kept pointing his gun at her and other family members. After the car carrying her husband and son left the place, the ASI and his aides took away gold ornaments, cash and other valuables and left her house in her new Toyota Corolla car bearing registration number CV-857-ICT.
After three days, ASI Tahir Rehan contacted her and demanded Rs5 million for the safe release of her husband and son and threatened that both would be killed if his demand was not met, she maintained saying that she informed him that she was unable to arrange such a huge amount, however, she owned a plot in Karachi, worth Rs2.6 million, and she offered that to him. But he asked for full amount. As she could not arrange the amount, she approached the court of law.
She feared that the captors will torture her husband and son and kill them or involve them in false cases. Police have registered a case but haven’t yet arrested the suspects.
