BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi Thursday again urged the election commission (EC) members to resign for the sake of the country.
Addressing the party’s district Bahawalnagar workers convention in Chishtian regarding the preparation of the local bodies’ polls, Qureshi asked the workers that it would be mandatory for all local bodies’ polls candidates of the PTI to come to Islamabad on Oct 4 to join the protest against the EC members.
He said due to wrong policies of the PML-N government farmers of the country have reached on the verge of disaster and sense of deprivation in south Punjab has increased.
Qureshi said for the first time in the country’s history the LB polls are being held on party basis which is also a new experience for the PTI.
He said results would be fruitful for the PTI in Punjab like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
After the convention, Qureshi chaired the PTI district Bahawalnagar meeting at office of Malik Muzaffar Awan, PTI district president (Bahawalnagar chapter).
BUTCHERS DETAIN EDO: Butchers detained the EDO health Rahimyar Khan and Heath Officer Rahim Yar Khan when they tried to check cleanliness and standards of meat in Manthar area near Sadiqabad on Thursday.
Later, the AC Sadiqabad rushed to the spot with police and got released the officers from illegal detention of butchers.
MAN COMMITS SUICIDE: A father of two children Thursday committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope owing to financial problems.
Muhammad Yaseen of Basti Rajaywali was jobless for many years. He tried to establish his shop but could not succeed. In a fit of desperation he committed suicide.
