Gilgit-Baltistan attracting international tourists: Javed Malik
DUBAI: Diplomat Business Club president and former ambassador Javed Malik has said there is growing interest in international tourists to visit Pakistan particularly the picturesque region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said this while speaking at a roundtable meeting arranged by him to welcome Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman in Dubai. International tour operators and businessmen associated with tourism and hotel industry also held meetings with the GB chief minister.
The businessmen were briefed about the tourism potential of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as the investment opportunities in the hydropower and mining sector. The chief minister assured the businessmen that the government welcomes foreign investment and would facilitate the business community. Javed Malik highlighted that Gilgit-Baltistan is the entry point of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and this makes it an important region with ample opportunities for the smart investors. It was agreed to send a delegation of overseas Pakistani businessmen to visit the region in the coming months. The CM also met the overseas Pakistanis.
