Pakistan held 2-2 by Malaysian club in football friendly
KARACHI: Pakistan football team was held to a 2-2 draw by the Malaysian Premier League club UKM FC in a friendly game in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Pakistan took the lead in the fifth minute when striker Kaleemullah hit it from the spot. However, the lead did not last long as hosts staged a superb fightback, scoring through Ahmed Asnan in the 22nd minute to level the scores. At half-time, the match was evenly poised at 1-1.
Ten minutes into the second half Mohammad Afzal once again provided Pakistan with a lead. But the hosts again equalised when Rennie Amadaiya struck in the 78th minute. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia FC is a football club based in Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia. The club represents the National University of Malaysia and currently plays in the Malaysia Premier League, second-tier of Malaysian football. The club is wholly owned by the National University of Malaysia.
Pakistan will now face Felda United FC in their next outing on Thursday (today). Pakistan team is on a week-long training tour of Malaysia.
