PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtun-khwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan administered oath to the newly elected members of the Kohat District Bar Association.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Governor’s House here on Wednesday.
The bar association President Malik Imad Azam, Vice-President Sameena Khurram, General Secretary Dr Ameer Ajam Khattak and other office-bearers of the association and a large number of lawyers attended the function.
He asked lawyers to provide legal services to needy people, saying that legal fraternity played a role in establishing the rule of law. He said the rule of law was the only solution to the maintenance of peace.
He said Kohat Bar Association had the capacity to go a long way in the solution of people’s problems and development of the nation.
The governor said that the lawyer community had played a pivotal role in the restoration of democracy in the country. “Lawyers always provide wisdom-oriented leadership to the nation in difficult times,” he added.
