Arms smuggling bid foiled in Kohat

KOHAT: The police foiled a bid to smuggle arms and ammunition and arrested an accused at the Kohat Toll Plaza on Indus Highway on Friday, official said. Briefing the media persons, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bashirdad Khan said that acting on a tip-off, the police party headed by the Station House Officer Islamuddin barricaded the Indus Highway near the Kohat Toll Plaza. He said that a car (MR-B-7111) coming from Darra Adamkhel was stopped and on thorough search the police seized five Kalashnikov, 25 pistols and 9000 cartridges and dozens of magazines from the trunk of the car.
