GHALLANAI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sanaullah Abbasi Thursday visited Mohmand tribal district and assured that all genuine problems of the tribal police would be solved on priority basis to bring them on a par with the police force of the province.
DIG, Mardan Range, Sher Akbar Khan, Additional IG special branch Qazi Jamilur Rehman and other officials also accompanied the police chief during his visit. It was first visit of the police chief to the merged tribal district after assuming his office. Sanaullah Abbasi addressed the police force of Mohmand tribal district at Jirga Hall in Lower Mohmand and said that former Khassadar and Levies had been merged into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and they were now part of the regular police force.
He listened to the police officers and jawans who informed the police chief of the problems they had been facing there. They raised certain issues including a lack of telecommunications equipment, transport, fuel for their vehicles, police posts, etc. “It is our responsibility to solve all your genuine problems and ensure you the best working environment so that you can better serve the masses,” said the police chief. The police chief appreciated the police force and their performance in the merged tribal district and assured he would utilise all the available resources to solve their problems.
Sanaullah Abbasi told the local police that they were having the same powers and responsibilities, which the police in other parts of the province were exercising. Also, the IGP told the Mohmand tribal police that soon they would have the same perks and privileges which are available to regular police force of the rest of the province.
