KP Food Authority to form committee in Abbottabad
ABBOTTABAD: A senior official said on Thursday the KP Food Safety and Halal Food Authority was committed to providing citizens free hygienic foodstuff. “The basic purpose of the creation of the authority is to provide people with clean and hygienic food items,” said Dr Azmat, Director General, Operations of the authority, while speaking to the media at the office of Deputy Commissioner Amir Afaq.
He said there was no other motive like the imposition of fines and collection of funds as this is done to create awareness among the general public who had the right to buy neat and clean food items without any adulteration. Dr Azmat said the committees at the district level would be formed which would have people from different walks of life to bring all stakeholders on board. The official said the district committees would assist the authority to provide a healthy and clean environment.
