Shoaib makes winning start in Kulsum Tennis
ISLAMABAD: Youngster Mohammad Shoaib Khan got off to winning start in the fifth Begum Kulsum Saifullah National Ranking Tennis Tournament under way at the PTF Complex, Islamabad.
Shoaib beat Faizan Fayyaz in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to move into the second round. He was seen at ease winning game after game with Faizan just succeeding in retaining two of his serves in both sets respectively. As many as 32 matches were played in the men’s singles and boys singles category Wednesday.
All the top players advanced to the second round with comfortable wins. A high standard of tennis was witnessed during course of action. Senior Executive Vice President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Khawar Hyat Khan declared the tournament open.
