Six of a family burnt alive as house catches fire in Gujrat
GUJRAT: In a horrific incident, six members of a family were burnt to death in a fire at their house in Gujrat’s Kotla Arab Khan area on Sunday.
Rescue officials’ initial investigations indicate that the fire was triggered by short-circuiting. They said the fire was so intense that the family members could not find their way out of the house to evade the raging flames. Local residents spotted smoke rising from the building and broke open the main door to rescue the household.
The deceased were identified as Naseem Bibi, her sons Kashif and Faisal and three daughters Tayyab, Zobia and Madeeha. The security personnel arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.
The incident occurred in Goch area of Kotla Arab Ali Khan in Gujrat district. Both the dead brothers -- Kashif and Faisal -- were deaf and dumb.
The father of the children had already died. The bodies were shifted to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital.
