Approval of Army Act bill in national interest: Pervaiz Elahi
LALAMUSA: Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi on Thursday inaugurated the academic block of the University of Gujrat (UoG).
Addressing the gathering, he said the Pakistan Army and the government of Pakistan have made a good decision by opting for peace by not taking part in the US-Iran conflict. He claimed the government and the opposition are on the same page over this issue. The approval of the Army Act Amendment Bill 2020 is in great interest of the country. The institutions will be strengthened by expressing maturity. There will be prosperity in the country and the economy will be stable.
He said the government is paying attention towards inflation to reduce it. He alleged that former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif did not release funds for the UoG for a decade and did not let start the Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology. He blamed that Shahbaz did not continue the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway project. He claimed he will give solid shape to his projects. There is no doubt that the present assembly will complete its tenure as the previous assemblies also completed their tenure.
Former federal minister Wajjahat Hussain, former provincial education minister Imran Masood, MPA Abdullah Yousaf, Saadat Nawaz Ajnala, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shabbar Attique and others were present.
