NAB wants govt to put Maryam Nawaz on ECL for sugar mills probe
NAB, in its letter to the interior ministry, said that investigations against the PML-N leader are ongoing in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case and her name should be put on the ECL
LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau Lahore has written a letter to the federal government to put Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s name on the exit control list (ECL) fearing that the PML-N leader could leave the country while she is required in Chaudhry Sugar Mills alleged money-laundering investigation.
It has been learnt that NAB, in its letter to the interior ministry, said that investigations against the PML-N leader are ongoing in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case and her name should be put on the ECL to eliminate the possibility of her going abroad.
The name of Maryam Nawaz is already on the ECL. Also, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has fixed the plea of Maryam Nawaz seeking removal of her name from the ECL for hearing on Jan 15. Meanwhile, the NAB Lahore has summoned PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah again for Feb 3 in an ongoing inquiry of assets beyond means against him.
