BAHAWALPUR: Three dacoits were killed during an encounter with police near Chak 27/BC in the limits of Baghdadul Jadeed police here on Saturday night.
According to the Baghdadul Jadeed police SHO Irfan Akbar, the police were taking Khateebur Rehman of Maroot, Attiqur Rehman of Faisalabad and Jameel of Rahimyar Khan, the dacoits involved in several cases of murder, dacoity and other heinous crimes, for the recovery of snatched bikes when nine unidentified gangsters opened fire at the police vehicle to get release the dacoits. In the meantime, bullets hit the dacoits and caused their instant death, the SHO claimed. He told that all the three criminals were wanted by Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Jhang, Faisalabad and Vehari districts police in dozens of cases.

Accused Sher Muhammad allegedly opened indiscriminate fire over a property dispute. As a result, his younger brother Muhammad Kashif was killed on the spot while Kashif’s wife Shakila and mother Hajjani Bibi sustained bullet injuries and shifted to the BVH in critical condition.
COMMITS SUICIDE: A man committed suicide at Ezafi Basti, Chak 16 Gajjyani, on Sunday.
Muhammad Akram, the father of three minor daughters, ended his life by hanging himself with a roof. The motive behind the incident is said to be poverty and domestic disputes.
Six-year-old boy strangled after sexual assault

BAHAWALPUR: A six-year-old boy was strangled after being sexually assaulted at Ghalla Tiba on Sunday.
According to police, the dead body of Ali Haider was found near his house and he was strangled after being sexually assaulted. The police have sent the body to the THQ Hospital Haroonabad for post-mortem.
